DUB on your mobile
Nov 11th
DUB The easiest way to exchange contact info
When you and another person open the DUB app on an iPhone or BlackBerry and click the locate button, DUB will find both and prompt you to exchange info. The contact information is saved directly to your mobile address book.
If the other person doesn’t have DUB or is in the next state instead of next to you, just type their email address or mobile number and push send. They’ll get a message with your contact info and a link to create their card. Once they do, your info is saved to their mobile address book and theirs to yours.
An address book that’s always current
All your DUB contacts appear both in your existing mobile address book and under Contacts in DUB. Any time any one of your contacts updates any field (phone, email, address, adds LinkedIn, etc.) in DUB, the update is automatically made on your phone’s existing address book and under Contacts in DUB. You don’t have to do a thing!
Your back-up
Phone meets an untimely death or disappears? Just download DUB to your new phone and all your DUB contacts return to your mobile address book and under DUB Contacts.
Adobe on iPhone, when??
Nov 9th
GearDiary reports on a recent change to Adobe’s “Get Flash” download page for Flash Player that appears when visited by iPhone users. iPhone users are linked to the page when attempting to load Flash video and have traditionally been greeted with a simple message informing them that Flash was not available for their platform.
The updated text clearly passes the blame for lack of Flash support on the iPhone to Apple, pointing to Apple’s restrictions on the use of such technologies.
Apple restricts use of technologies required by products like Flash Player. Until Apple eliminates these restrictions, Adobe cannot provide Flash Player for the iPhone or iPod Touch.
Adobe recently launched a Flash Player initiative to facilitate the integration of Flash across platforms, including smartphones. Apple, however, was been notably absent from the list of companies participating in the initiative.

To Partner Or Not To Partner – Verizon CEO Throws Ball Into Apple’s Court
(The Wall Street Journal)
After ravishing the iPhone in the “Droid Does” ad campaign (video below) and also taking a direct swipe at iPhone’s carrier AT&T, Verizon now seems all ready to work with Cupertino in the future.
According to a statement by the CEO of Verizon Communications, Ivan Seidenberg, the ball is entirely in Apple’s court whether to decide if they would want to partner with Verizon or not.
Speaking during Verizon’s third quarter earnings call, Seidenberg said:
“We obviously would be interested at any point in the future they (Apple) thought it would make sense for them to have us as a partner. And so we will leave it with them on that score”.
Seidenberg also complimented Apple on the terrific success of the iPhone and hoped that the companies would engage in a partnership soon which could be mutually beneficial as both the companies can stand to reach out to newer customers.
The relationship between Apple and Verizon has been one of high speculation. While on one hand, we have ad campaigns such as “Droid Does” where Verizon claims the new Motorola Droid as a better smartphone than Apple’s iPhone, we also have speculative reports about Verizon and Apple working together on a 4G LTE iPhone that could be released next year.
Despite these contradicting pictures of the status of this relationship, Seidenberg’s call for a partnership makes good business sense; especially in the light of AT&T’s third quarter earnings report where 92% of carrier’s post-paid subscriber growth came just from the sale of iPhones. A partnership with the country’s largest wireless carrier which also boasts of a superior network quality will also help Apple reach out to a huge chunk of the population hitherto untouched.
With so much talk in the recent past about the Verizon-Apple partnership and the subsequent customer interest in moving to Verizon from AT&T, do you think an exodus of iPhone customers, known for their high bandwidth consumption, from AT&T to Verizon could expose Verizon’s claims of being a superior network?
